Welcome

Hello, I’m Dr. Todd Clements. Thank you for visiting here.

I’m not your typical psychiatrist;

I don’t smoke cigars, have a beard, or wear a bow-tie.

I see pre-teens, teenagers, and adults for psychiatric evaluations, pharmacological management, life-coaching, and counseling. My office is located in the Family Physicians of Jonesboro’s building at 3104 Apache Drive in Jonesboro Arkansas.

Psychiatric Evaluation

A Psychiatric Evaluation—or Psychiatric Assessment, as they are sometimes known as, is the process of a psychiatrist gathering information about a person for the purpose of making a diagnosis and determining what’s the best course of action. This is usually the first stage of a treatment process.

Substance Abuse Evaluation

Substance abuse or addiction has a heavy hand on a person’s life; it can deeply affect them on many levels, causing damage to their body, mind, and relationships. When a person’s substance use reaches the level that they are engaging in activities that endanger themselves, their health, or that of others it is time to get help. A substance abuse evaluation is the first step in getting this help. This evaluation is a tool used to help determine the extent of a person’s misuse and abuse of drugs or alcohol and to determine how to go about treating a person to achieve the greatest success.

Counseling

Counseling, also known as therapy, or psychotherapy, is the process of meeting together with a mental health professional to resolve problematic behaviors, beliefs, feelings, relationship issues, and or somatic responses (sensations in the body). The goal of therapy is to learn to change self-destructive behaviors and habits, resolve painful feelings, improve your relationships, and more. Counseling alleviates anxiety, depression, and anger in their many forms.

Pharmacological Management/Follow-Up

Routine follow-up care consists of periodic visits that to assess your well-being, monitor the progress of the treatment plan, take into account new happenings in life, and to make adjustments accordingly. Follow-up care plays an important role in maintaining your health.

Life Coaching

Life coaching is the process of helping people identify and achieve personal goals. A life coach helps you reach a goal or make a change in your life. They help you to get out of your head and start taking action in the areas of your life that you wish to change. A life coach helps you identify your goals, learn to identify and develop your strengths that are needed to reach these goals, and then they walk with you in the process of accomplishing these goals.

Psychiatric Consultation

Sometimes, when it comes to yourself or a family member, you’re just not sure what the next step is. A psychiatric consultation is usually a one-time appointment where we sit down and discuss your issues with the goal in mind of helping you choose the best course of action for yourself or a loved one.
